What I do.
I help you effectively communicate your product, service or corporate message to the people who matter to you – your customers, your employees, your investors or people you’d like to become your customers, employees or investors.
Copywriter AND communication consultant.
With a background in corporate communications, in 2011 I branched out into creative copywriting, working mainly for advertising agencies and creating campaigns for everything from lingerie to car washes, and x-ray machines to solid gold credit cards. Meanwhile, I kept my corporate contacts and helped them with a variety of projects including large-scale organisational change, new product launches and crisis communications.
Essentially it comes down to the same thing – getting the target audience to engage with and act upon the intent behind the words. Creating copy and strategies that drive business results.
Results speak louder than words.
It’s often said that the best copywriters or communicators are those who’ve done lots of other stuff and been to lots of places. It allows them to quickly assimilate a large amount of disparate information and distil it into a message that resonates with the right people.
With that in mind I’d say I’m well qualified. I’ve worked in many areas including credit cards, logistics, marketing, start-ups, banking, insurance, pharmaceuticals and medical devices, and even, for a short time, as a chef.
I’m about as international as it gets – half English half German, grew up in the UK and Belgium, studied in Scotland and France, lived and worked in Belgium, the Netherlands, Australia, Germany, Switzerland and now France. I speak English (native), German and French (fluent), as well as Spanish and Dutch (conversational).
As a freelancer, you’re only as good as your last piece of work, so the fact I keep on getting booked and recommended to others must say something about what my clients think.
